Where to Read

Each person is different in where they like to read. Below are a number of suggestions if you are struggling.

  • The Chair
    • Many people who read regularly have a specific chair they read in. There are recliners, wingback armchairs, porch swings, loungers, etc. If you like it, it is not the wrong choice
  • In Bed
    • You may be a pillow or two away from reading in bed.
    • If your spouse doesn’t want the light on, a Kindle reader with a backlight is a great option.
    • If you are worried about falling asleep, try it first. Often times people fall asleep reading books at night, however, fiction books are a different animal. They engage you on a different level.
  • If you are pressed for time:
    • The bathroom.
    • The car (while waiting not driving).
  • The Park
    • Take the kids to the park and after playing with them for a while take a break.
  • Reading Corner
    • If you want to prioritize reading across your whole family, it may be worth it to designate a corner in your house with a bookshelf, chair, and light.
  • VACATION
    • Vacation is the busy adults reading paradise. Whether you are reading on the beach or a porch in the mountains, vacation often provides us with the perfect place to relax.
